Pheasant in motion

We have a pheasant hanging around our place that we've almost hit with the car a couple times as he doesn't seem to grasp the notion that we are much bigger then he is. I was able to walk up to within 5-6 feet of him yesterday and snapped a few pics as he walked around and tried to act nonchalant.

Pheasants always seemed almost absurdly unflappable to me. It's like the don't get that people can be a danger to them. They're very pretty though.

What a beautiful bird! I love how he seems to be shaking the dust of the place off his right foot.
