Shiny Pillar in Wisconsin State Capitol Building
Super glossy polish on the granite pillar in Wisconsin State Capitol building shows mirrored image of curved skylights below as well as reflection of barrel-vaulted wing, recapitulating overall building
Reason #48 why I love the State Capitol Building: the architectural details in this surface recapitulate those in the entire building's plan.

Dueling Circles
Black polyester with bright blue, black, purple, yellow, orange, fuschia and cornflower blue circles in a regular grid rests on top of fuschia pink polyster with sketchy white outlined circles in almost random sizes and positions.

I think this mallard drake definitely qualifies.

My favorite shiny photographic thing is the QE2 sculpture in Manhattan, on Water Street half a block up from Wall Street, where Pine Street used to be.  It's probably not as shiny as it was 30 years ago, though.

Besides, that's an expensive trip for one picture.

Skull Grillwork on truckSo.  This somewhat combines transportation and shiny; I had intended to go and get some shots of streetcars or BART and I may yet.  But I...haven't.  So.
turlough: megalith stone circle with setting sun, solstice at Stonehenge ((other) evening twilight)

I haven't used this tea pot in quite a while. If I had I'm sure it wouldn't be even half as shiny and reflective.

Things just don't get shiny around here this time of year. Glassy is the best I can do.
