Hello and welcome to [community profile] shutterspeed!

The idea behind this community is to take more photos. Anyone with a camera (or with access to one) is welcome to participate!

Members will suggest prompts for the community. Then you can go out into the world and start taking photos based upon the prompts. As with writing or other pursuits, prompts can encourage more creation.

Please post up to one (top-level) post per day with your photos. If you have more than one photo to post, put your additional photos under a cut.

I am thinking 2-week prompt periods, at least to begin with, although there was some discussion in this post about having prompts windows of longer length for more difficult (abstract) challenges. Let me know what you think!

Use cuts generously! Please warn for possibly disturbing or triggering content and place it under a cut. Same goes for nudity or adult content.

Please contact a moderator if you have questions or concerns. You can send a private message or comment to this post.

Tell your friends to join! All photographers of all abilities are welcome here.

Lovely community name :) I've been meaning to take more photos, I hope I'll be able to use this community to get myself to do so!

This is fantastic! I am excited!

I think that occasional longer prompt windows for more abstract prompts is a good idea -- mix it up a little. :)

This looks like it would be a lot of fun and a great excuse to take the camera out and explore more. Yay!

This is a great idea! I'm not in any way practiced, but I am trying to improve my skills!

Yay!! Thank you!

I'd love to see the mixed topics (two at once, one longer and abstract, one shorter and concrete) but just to have topics/prompts...much glee!
