I seem compelled to caption these images. What do other shutter-speedsters think? Does it modify your experience?

I once read this really awesome piece of advice on a photo blog:

The question to the pro photographer was: With digital photograph we can take millions of pictures really, really cheap, so how do we decide what to actually shoot?

The answer: When studying a subject think, "What would I name this photograph and/or how would I caption it? If you can't come up with something interesting or clever, you just may not need that shot.

So, yeah, captions/titles are important, imho. :)

Ooooh I LOVE the first photo! The subtle, similar colors, the composition, the textures! Fantastic.

I like your "life on death" caption. If you enjoy captioning, I say go for it, my opinion.

I love both of these so much, but the top one in particular, such an amazing presentation of colour and texture.

I like captions, I feel like they usually give an added dimension to the photo. Or at the very least they satisfy my curiosity :-)

I love the last photo, it's such an effective combination of shapes and textures.
