 It's a former hot dog/burger stand that's been defunct and deteriorating for several years because the owners want to demolish the current building and install a McDonald's.  The neighborhood this is in isn't at all on board with this (they cite traffic concerns, which are genuine), and no one is yielding, so the building has been an eyesore (except that it's been repainted recently) and would have gone well in the WTF category if I'd remembered to take the camera out.

It's the lightning that makes it "kwik," anyway (there were three Kwik Ways 10-15 years ago, but the burger business isn't what it used to be.

I don't doubt that Bush Street (San Francisco) has seen a banshee or two.

Great old sign. In a way, it's a shame to demolish all of these old "eyesores." How can you beat Kwik, with a lightning bolt emphasizing its meaning?
