Day One: Green (Waldo.)

Taken today in front of the Chicago Water Tower on Michigan Avenue:

Every year Chicago plants hundreds of tulips on Michigan Avenue and they're starting to come up.  This guy was a bit of an over-achiever.  I think his friends have a week or so to go. :)

Camera: Canon XSi, f/8, 1/200.  Tamron 70-300 lens.

I have some really amazing macro shots of the ones that came up even faster. But none of them were green. White, orange, purple...

I love the depth of field in this. And I've got some admiration for the little tulip that could, I'm not gonna lie.

Ooh! Thanks! That's what I was playing with. Trying to keep the traffic out, but keep the 'urban' background, but keep it soft... make the one flower stand out... ;)

So glad you like it. And yeah, he's a go-getter. :) At least for this plot. There were some stunning ones that were twice his size down the block. :)

That's a great picture. I love the horizontal lines and contrast between the shape of tulip leaves and the box.
