I woke up this morning and said 'ok, self, take a picture of something green that is not a plant!'

Look what I went and did:

A Douglas iris, a purple flower with three large petals overlaid by three smaller ones, all purple.

The problem is, I was taking out the garbage, and I realised that this volunteer iris started blooming, and, I mean: Look at this. How can you not take a picture of that?!

Hello Photographers!

The "Green" Aperture will close on Monday and a new one will open. I think we will continue with the abstract prompt of "Growth" for another two weeks, but we will choose a new concrete prompt. What sort of concrete prompt would you all like to see for the next Aperture? Feel free to suggest some more in comments here or in raanve's previous call for prompts.

So, this is a reminder to post "green" photos that you have taken in the previous two weeks if you have not already done so, and to use the rest of the weekend to take some more if you want!

You may have noticed that we have tags for the community. The tags are organized by challenge and by photographer (p). So, please use the tags when you are posting, and let us know if you need a new photographer tag!

Zaharah's Drum

Sometime in the next two weeks this bead (which I did not, alas, make) will become part of a necklace called "Zaharah's Drum," coming to the WisCon art show near me!

Spring isn't very far along here yet but at least the dandelions are coming along fast.
