Old reflections

I passed an old deserted house when I was out biking yesterday.

reflections FROM glass

I hope this is okay, I can understand if it's not; I've taken half a billion pictures recently and none of them suited the challenge, but when I finally dumped my camera's contents to my new computer I found one image that suited the challenge I'd taken a bit ago and managed to forget about:

meloukhia: Red stockinged legs in black heels, standing next to a watering can with a red flower. (green light)

fourteen.reflections.glass

A green vase in a window. The window hardware can be seen out of focus to the right, and reflected in focus on the side of the vase.

Return of the green thing! Viewing large provides more detail, but my goal, to have the hardware out of focus in physical reality but in focus in reflection, was achieved!

kyrielle: painterly drawing of a white woman with large dark-blue-framed glasses, hazel eyes, brown hair, and a suspicious lack of blemishes (Default)

Reflections and glass

Three photos for reflections and glass.

Reflections

Two more )

Also, I found one picture I missed during lines and patterns (took then, didn't process) - if you're curious it's here (and probably as good as or better than any that I uploaded). Also, of the ones I uploaded for that aperture, I finally figured out what the spiral was. Not from the server room...one row in a candy vending machine, all sold out.

New aperture starts tomorrow -- call for prompts

Reflections and Glass will close tomorrow and a new aperture will open! The "Communication" prompt will stay open for 2 more weeks. Please suggest prompts (either concrete or abstract, if they are abstract I'll save them for next time) in comments for a new aperture you'd like to have.

The Bean that Launched a Million Reflection Shots...

So, timing is everything.  I've lived in the city (Chicago) proper for 10 years, but I'd never really been to Millennium Park.  But a group I belong to had a photo hike scheduled for there today.  Just in time for the end of this appature. :)

Anyway, there's a structure at the entrance to the park that's officially called "Cloud Gate," but not one person I know actually calls it that.  We all call it "The Bean".  It's a big mirrored bean that sucks in photographers from an 18 mile radius, I swear.  I have never seen more cameras in one place since the last time I went to a camera shop.   Most play inside where you can stand on your own head and stuff, but I was having fun taking shots outside.

The Chicago skyline, both in front of and behind me.  (Yes, that little orange and blue blob at the bottom left is your intrepid photographer.)

Final reflections

Eeep! I lost track of time. I have a couple more Reflections shots to get in.

River again, and glass. )
