Two birds, one post

I took this one last weekend on my way out to snap some picture of the approaching thunderstorm. This is my favorite gravel road that I use as a bike trail. I hadn't realized it was so bumpy until I got down to ground level.

Honestly, I'm not too sure *what* this is, exactly. It was in the communications room at the local train museum, but there was no identification card. I'm assuming it's some sort of communications switch, but if anybody can identify it, I'd love to know for sure.

The only way to see half the exhibits with my children in tow is to take pictures and look later, at my leisure. They were taking off down the train platform as I snapped this (and the rest of the display). I'm amused by the WWII era marketing.
