So of course he was super-active, which was cool, but in a dark environment, which meant needing a long shutter.  Then he finally stopped, but his nose was behind the plant.  Gr.

If anyone's interested, it's a Green Tree Boa, shot with a macro lens.  Some of the scales back where he has the white spots, really do look awesome in full size.

Hee. Plants are kind of a natural reaction to the challenge... I just like to go around and break the mold whenever I can. ;)

I'm hoping to get some better ones of his whole face when I go back in a week or so. :)

Thanks! That's made from two shots I took at the Shedd Aquarium a few years ago when they had their huge lizard exhibit. He was sleeping when I came up to him, so I took a shot. Then without moving anything but his eyelid, he woke up, so I took another shot. All I had to do after that was make an animated .gif of the two to make him wink.
