It's a bit of a stretch from this picture to the abstract prompt, except in the Firefly sense of the term, which is a fair description of how I feel about my hometown.
Thanks! It's such a pleasing view, when the river is glassy and silver. The following day, it was as turgid and muddy as the Mississippi. Big rainstorm.
Lovely photo. I love how luminous the light is in. The two buildings at center right almost looks like they've been transplanted from the future, they look too shiny to be quite real :-)
The tall one, designed by Pietro Belluschi and fondly known around here as Big Pink, is one of the few examples of Modern architecture that I really like, because of the way it uses its site and the local climate to bring it alive. It does the most interesting things with what light we have (and it's actually rather nice inside, too). It's not actually square, but a parallelogram, so that from some angles it looks like a two-dimensional cutout of a building against the sky.
Anyway (hee! How I do go on!), thanks. Alien buildings from the future. I love it. It's like something out of Fringe!

I love the reflections, especially of the buildings on the right!
