I just got a Canon Powershot S90 to replace my old, mostly broken point-and-shoot digital camera. I'm still getting used to having control over focus, aperture, and shutter speed settings again, but here goes.
Barrel of pickles!

Fiddleheads: I was thinking about getting some, but was intimidated when I heard they were toxic when raw. It doesn't sound as if they're particularly hard to cook, though... Maybe later, if I don't miss the season.

Asparagus is an interesting-looking vegetable.

Date: 2010-04-18 05:25 am (UTC)[btw, fiddleheads are surprisingly easy to cook - just saute and steam, like asparagus! and their toxin a) develops as they grow and b) is deactivated by heat, so as long as you pick out the most tightly-curled ones and cook them until tender, they are tasty and fabulous!]
